My dentist suggested. Is a very good product and it seems to do better than my older one, I'll find out at my next cleaning. Others commented about hitting the adjustment buttons while using. It has happened to me a few times but you can learn to avoid it and if you hit it by mistake, just hit it again to restart, the timer continues from where you left off.

The Sonicare Flexcare gives you that "dental cleaning" great feel. The toothbrush handle is lighter and easier to handle than the original Sonicare style.
Now for the bad. The toothbrush head would not fit flush on the handle. There was a slim gap between the base of the brush head and the control/handle unit. This then 1. Caused the toothbrush head to come loose and at times to pop off. 2. Because of the gap and the looseness, the brush cleaning selection malfunctioned. While brushing in the clean mode, it would switch to the "massage mode" or the "sensitive mode". At first I thought I was accidentally touching the selection button by mistake while brushing. But, I believe now it is related to the poorly fitting toothbrush head not seated properly and snug on the poorly designed/or manufactured "metal rod fitting".
I contacted Philips Sonicare using their "Live Chat". After a short discussion of the problem and giving the rep. the model number and serial number of my unit, I was told a new Flexcare would be sent out to me and arrive in a week. A return label will be included to return the defective toothbrush.
Philips has excellent customer care. However, whoever is manufacturing these units are not doing a great job of quality control. Chinese made? Says so on the box, but the Flexcare says that the unit was assembled in the U.S. My original Sonicare was still working but I was getting tired of cleaning it and the brush was a bit heavy and cumbersome. My original Sonicare was over 12 years old and still doing well. Philips....you have a great product...please make a more reliable product.

Crazy for field hockey
Do your homework and research toothbrush reviews on the net. This toothbrush will last about 2 years then you will go to use it and the battery will not charge. A waste of money for something that craps out and stops charging all the sudden. Do not waste your money!!!!!! The sanatation devise is appealing, but think twice. We also have an Oral B toothbrush that has out lasted the life of the soniccare one. I highly recommend going with anything other than this soniccare toothbrush.

I have owned two Sonicare Flex in the last 18 months from two different vendors. One was bought from Sam Club and the other was from Amazon. Both does the tooth cleaning well when they are working.
Both Sonicare Flex have the same problem: quit working after 9 to 12 months. Both batteries were still hold charge, and the vibrating mechanisms were still working. Inspection of both Sonicare found a small screw (approx 3/8" long) that transferred the vibration to the brush was backing out completely.
It takes less than 5 min to pull the Sonicare Flex gut out and re-install the screw. However, the design can be improved to prevent it from happening in the first place. For a person that can not fix the issue, paying > $120 a year on tooth brush is not acceptable.
