5 out of 5 stars GREAT Product, GREAT Value!   June 23, 2010

I was told to get a heart rate monitor when I began my new series of workout sessions. I looked all over for a product like this one in my local sports stores and big box retailers, only to find that they carried only the HR monitors that had to stay affixed to your wrist, plus they cost more.

When I purchased this product, I was so excited tha tI ran to the gym to see if my product would communicate to the elliptical and step climbing machines at the gym. IT DID! The only recommendations that I would make to changing the product would be to rewrite the manual. It was difficult figuring out whether this product would be electronically detected by other devices based upon the instructions that came with the product, as well as whether the heart rate monitor band would work without the watch being present. I found out that it does. A slight adjustment requires that the band and watch be near each other to begin pacing the HR monitor band, but then you do not have to attach the watch band to your wrist or to the equipment that you are using to monitor your electronic signal as most gym equipment with a heart rate sensor picks up the HR monitor band quite well without the Watch receiver. An overall great buy!

very satisfied great quality
easy to use you dont need to sweat or pour water on it as some of the reviewers have mentioned in order to get a reading just takes correct positioning i strap it on and within a few seconds its reading my h.beats
you can use it as a watch also a stopwatch alarm...etc it works
my workouts have been improved greatly by this i know im actually burning more fat now by keeping my heart at my target rate i really recomend this for runners you can make your runs twice as effective

I really don't know how to exercise. But I am getting up there in age enough I didn't want to over do it. After talking with my doctor at the last visit he advised me on the heart rate I should shoot for. This device helped me target my heart rate as I walk or jog. Overall it works very well. I haven't had any issues with it. It straps around your chest which works OK for me because my stomach sticks out enough to help keep it up. I'm not sure how it works on a skinny person. I guess they could just tighten it up a litte more. Anyway I really like it, works as advertised.

For $32 along with a fair amount of great reviews, I was pretty excited about this heartrate monitor. But I found it worked only some of the time. When it wasn't giving a relistic reading, which was about half of the time, it just read "0". Not helpful at all.

I exchanged it for another one (really pleased with Amazon actually how easy and fast that was) and the second one was worse than the first. It only managed a realistic reading a couple of times, mostly it read zero and once it read extremely high for the activity level which was a bit alarming. Very weird. Had to face the fact that it's pretty useless, return it, suck it up and pay more for a different model.
