Best epilator I have owned November 17, 2008 Canuck Lady (Kansas, USA) I have used Emjoi epilators until now and I also tried a Panasonc model and returned it immediately as it was too weak and slow. This Braun is the best epilator I have used - it is strong and fast compared to the ones I have usedin the past. The faster it works, the less pain there is. The light is very helpful (if it shines in your eyes, just cover it with your thumb). It is a "2 for 1" deal as it also includes a shaving head that works nicely for areas that you do not want to use the epilator.
Didn't hurt THAT bad!! November 10, 2008 C. Mullin (Steger, IL) I bought this a couple of weeks before going on vacation to Hawaii in October and I didn't want to bother with having to shave. Because of this product, I threw out my razors and vow to never shave again!! My mom had one of those old school epliators when I was little and it was pure torture, but it worked. I figured I would try a newer model in the hopes that modern technology would come to my rescue. It did! Does it hurt? Of course, it's pulling your hair out at the root! Is it unbearable pain? Absoultely not, thanks to the attachments that come with it. There is a gaurd that you need to make sure you use. The guard has rollers on it which go over the skin first. The eplitor then pulls the hair out, but then another roller goes over the skin to sooth it! The first couple of strokes hurt, but the part of the body you are epilating gets used to it. I would give it 5 stars, but for some reason, it won't get some of the finest hairs on the back of my leg, no matter which direction I go. I also do my armpits, which hurt like no other the first time, but not so much the second. It doesn't get all of the hair with that either, only the courser ones. It may just be the weird angle though! The only other comment that I have is to watch if you are in an area where you have any type of stretch marks. The first time I was doing my arm pits, it chewed up the outer skin on my arm in the crease. It grabbed the skin like it would the hair. I also have some raised stretch marks on my inner thigh, what girl doesn't!! It also got it a little bit there. I haven't had problems since, but I have to be extremely careful in these areas.
works well November 9, 2008 Student (Schaumburg, IL) my wife seems to be at pain while using it but that she wants :) she likes it and it works well for pulling hair out of the face, legs, etc
If you needed this like I do, you'll love it like I do! November 8, 2008 rightandtight (MO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Another review here put it best: "If you want results badly" you will love this product. I've only been using this for a week now, but I believe a lot of the people who have given up on using an epilator simply have never had to deal with the awful difficulties some of us do with shaving. Starting out with this is time and pain intensive, but for people who want long-lasting relief from the futility and demoralizing effects of shaving, this is an unbelievable invention. I have very dark, coarse, fast-growing hair, paired with very sensitive skin. With shaving, I got ingrown hairs along with painful razor burn all over my thighs and bikini line when i shaved. On top of that, I'd have visible regrowth by the end of the day. Yet, I wouldn't be able to shave again for at least 48 hours because my skin was still so damaged. In the summer, I could only wear shorter skirts or shorts once a week, and even then I would usually have to put foundation on the areas that broke out. I say this in the past tense, because I am so thrilled to have found a method of hair removal that will free me from constant worry over having to cover my legs! As I said, I've only recently begun epilating, so I can't compare this model to others or talk about longterm results, but for me what's already happened is amazing. I did it initially four days ago on my legs and bikini line, and it was painful and tedious, but also gratifying to see all that thick dark hair be done away with. I've done waxing before, so I understand how hair grows in cycles and that there will be some irritation that will resolve quickly, so I was not put off by the red bumps or the fact that there was stubble. The second time I did it, two days later (my hair grows very fast, so the next cycle comes in quickly), it was still rather painful and, but much better and took much less time. I then waited another two days (today), and it was fast and totally bearable to touch up. I think I've gotten at least 75% of my growth by now (I see what I haven't gotten yet because my hair is so dark, I can see it before it grows above the skin), and hopefully after another four days and two more attempts will have had a chance to nab them all. Because of my waxing experience, I have high hopes that when the hairs grow in again, they will be much less dark and coarse. Some ingrown hairs (I got those shaving and waxing anyway) and soft, invisible stubble seem like blessings, knowing that I won't be constantly hairy and having to mangle my skin with that razor anymore if I ever want to show it! Maybe people who don't have thick hair growing quickly on them all the time aren't thrilled by the idea of being able to look at your own legs everyday without having to cringe, because they already can, but to me, it is a wonderful, novel experience. I don't have the money to wax, and I really like not having to wait for a full cycle to grow in before getting it taken care of! This product is just what I've been looking for all my life!!
awesome product!!!! November 6, 2008 shaz (Jamaica NY) I have tried everything, waxing, shaving, threading, u name it I've done it. I used this product first time yesterday and it works miracles. Its much faster than waxing and gets even the tiniest hair out. the results are awesome... I would recommend this to anyone who has serious problems with hair growth. I was a little scared to use it, since alot of the reviewers said it hurts, and I admit it does, but just like waxing your body gets used to it after a few times.
