I was disappointed in the condition of the packaging. Obama's face had been diagonally slashed and did not look like a unpacking accident. I called Amazon and was informed the shipper was out of stock.
The person I gave it to was gracious and accepted it in it's current condition.
Obama's hair is growing a bit erratic and he has a definite bald spot!
The chia pet is great, but I'm really disappointed that someone in shipping didn't catch this obvious damage.
 Poor packaging for shipping February 1, 2010

The product was packaged very poorly with very little protective packaging and item arrived broken in several pieces. It was too late to return for another and it was needed 2 days later. Proper packing for shipping would have prevented this from happening.

I wish to log a complaint with you, Amazon. Someone recently sent us a gift of about eight books purchased on Amazon. At least, we received eight books. You see, the packing slip in the box was for a different order to a different person. Therefore, we have no idea who sent us these books. When we contacted you, the two people that we spoke with were useless. They said without the packing slip there was no way to find out who made the order. This is terrible, as we will look like ingrates to whomever sent us this gift. Bad Amazon! BAD!!!

What did they do, take a Garry Shandling Chia pet head and call it Obama?
